ProfitPilot reads Shopify product and variant names, SKUs, prices, tracked inventory quantities and unit costs. It stores your verified days since last sale, settings, campaign snapshots and discount identifiers/status. It does not request orders, customer history or payment card details. Shopify authentication sessions can include installer account metadata and tokens.
We use this information to calculate margin-aware clearance recommendations, save your work, verify access and create discount codes that you explicitly approve. The app sends product-specific discount instructions to Shopify. It does not sell merchant data or send customer marketing messages. Service providers necessary to operate the app include Shopify, our VPS hosting provider and, when managed billing is enabled, Shopify App Pricing. Typography may load from Google Fonts; no inventory records are sent to Google for this purpose.
Connected workspaces are stored in a private SQLite database on Oru Studio’s VPS. Production Shopify access and refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before database storage. The service uses HTTPS, restricted filesystem permissions and a dedicated operating-system account. Local practice mode stores its workspace in your browser. Downloaded exports and backups remain under your control and can contain commercially sensitive cost information.
Connected workspace and session records are retained while the app is installed and deleted when Shopify delivers an uninstall or shop-redaction webhook. Daily operational backups are retained for up to 30 days, so deleted information can remain in restricted backup copies until expiry. Access logs exclude URL query strings and are subject to the server’s log rotation. Local browser data remains until you reset it or clear browser storage. Customer data export/redaction webhooks are acknowledged; no customer records are collected to export or delete.
You can export your plans and workspace, revoke access by uninstalling, or ask Oru Studio for assistance. Pause created discount codes before uninstalling: uninstalling does not automatically remove existing codes in Shopify. Support may ask for an error message or redacted screenshot; never send passwords, API secrets or customer payment information.
Shopify and our hosting/services may process data outside your country. Ask Oru Studio through the support page for applicable hosting and processing details. Material policy changes will be reflected here. This pilot does not currently collect merchant subscription charges; managed pricing requires a separate Shopify approval.
